Application:

Air valve play an important part in protecting piplines and providing maximum efficiency. Their duty is to fully and adequately ventilate a pipeline or system. This involves exhalation and inhalation of large volumes of air when filling or emptying or on pump start up or cessation sequences. Valves for this function are the large or double orific etypes. During pressurized conditions, air also accumulates and release is by means of the small orifice or double orifice designs. Valves should be sited at all points along a system where air/gas is likely to accumulate. These points will include all peak points, pressure break points, free surface sections.
