Butterfly valves are significant component of any water distribution system or treatment plant operation. Their function is similar situations but would not be used in sewage installations. This valve is now predominantly resilient sealed and hence gives drop tight closure over long periods.

The disc moves through 90 degrees and since shafts operate in self lubricating bearings, the valves can also be used for less onerous flow regulation duties.
